Diaries from a Distance

"Diaries from a Distance" er et samarbeidsprosjekt mellom Shwan Dler Qaradaki  - kunstner bosatt i Oslo, og Adnan Hassanpour - kurdisk journalist og tidligere politisk fange bosatt i Iran. Prosjektet handler om demokrati og ytringsfrihet, og Qaradaki har utformet et veggmaleri i Rosenkrantz' gate i Oslo basert på dialogen med Hassanpour. 

Til åpningen av veggmaleriet våren 2018 skrev Adnan Hassanpour en tekst som ble lest opp på stedet. Deler er teksten er oversatt til norsk, og hele teksten er oversatt til engelsk: 

Vi, folket i Iran, har slitt med et undertrykkende styresett i mange år. Et styresett som ble til etter en stor og folkelig revolusjon, men som veldig raskt snudde til å bli et system som ønsker å forvandle bevisste mennesker til ubevisste og mekaniske masser som ikke tenker selv og som frykter annerledestenkende. Det ideologiske grunnlaget for makt i mitt land er basert på oppbygging av eksterne fiender. Jo høyere risikoen for en trussel fra en innbilt ytre fiende er, jo større blir regjeringens evne til å overtale folk til ikke å protestere mot den faktiske undertrykkelsen internt i landet som regjeringen selv utøver mot folk. Men våkne forsvarere av den frie tanke og kultur har motsatt seg denne avskyelige ideologien og fortsatt kampen slik at den styrende makten ikke skal lykkes.

Kjære venner! Iranske frihets-tenkere fortsetter å kjempe mot landets tyranni. Det er alles ansvar at denne kampen kan fortsette uten ukloke innblandinger fra vestlige makthavere. Vesten må ha tro på at det iranske folk selv er i stand til å kjempe for våre humanitære ambisjoner, og at utenlandsk intervensjon bare vil skape en ekstra hindring i kampen for liberalisme og rettferdighet.

The authority intrinsically intends to subjugate and eliminate the ability of human thinking; they don’t want the masses to comprehend the reality of their exploitation and oppression, and do not seek to reveal it. The more constrained an authority is, the harder it will endeavour to stifle the functionality and activity of the critical and dissident thinkers. The disclosure of the tyrannical quiddity and nature of the rulers from the burly scrim of the system, is equal to enlighten the masses that the authorities always pursue to endure in ignorance, in order to ensure their survival. Because the protest and uprising are the result of the human consciousness to the present situation, and the result of the subsequent struggle of the masses to escape the slough that authorities create. Therefore, tyrannical rulers are believing in blocking the act of thinking so that the foundation of power will never be endangered.

As the peoples of Iran, we have been struggling against such an authority and these intolerable circumstances for many years. The authorities who has risen from such a great and social revolution which regressed quickly, and made every effort to bring conscious population to identity-less, smashed and  unconscious masses. But the thinkers and culture-builders has always resisted against this hideous and indignant effort and did not allow the ruling power to reach success with that. Unfortunately, for the peoples of the western countries, Iranian media along with western mainstream media have been highlighting an unreal and false appearance of Iranian society; that is to say a society which is deeply religious, reactionary, medieval and submissive, which is representing the perfect evil on earth. But the truth differs from this. Iran in terms of humanity and culture, is the most thinking, and the most secular society in the Muslim world, and the acceptable values of the authorities are surely the least wished values among the people of Iran. The main part of the dynamism of progress in Iran which is the result of costly efforts of actors of this land; in the past century and even before, there have been many people who have gone to prison for the purpose of spreading awareness and reflections, and even they have been displaced, deprived of all their social and human rights, and even sacrificed their lives for the enlightenment of the truth, and this unrelenting and fierce struggle still continues.

But let me not leave a certain truth unspoken; Unlike what has been said in the mainstream media, most of the policies of the Western countries do not help the people and our social movement, but it is even the main factor in enforcing tyranny in Iran. The ideological foundation of power in my country is based on the xenophobia and building up imaginary foreign enemy. The more the threat from the enemy tangible is for the rulers, the more their convincing power of preventing the people from protesting the internal oppression. The current and outdated idea of pressure and sanctions only serves to enforce the tyrannical radicals and increase their ability to mobilise more individuals and masses to defend and protect the continuity of their power, and for forty years the peoples in my country experience this faulty and inhuman cycle. The eight years long Iran-Iraq War were a blessing that helped the newly-established reign of Iran to make the most advantages of. The defence of the country from the foreign enemy as an excuse afforded an valuable opportunity in order to barricade the path of any criticism and objection. That was how the free and democratic respite was lost in many years.

Dear friends! The Iranian freedom and justice thinkability seekers continue to be at the forefront of the struggle against domestic tyranny. It is a public duty to prevent the irrational western rulers’ intervention to waste all this costly struggle and effort; it must be believed that the Iranian people themselves are able to advance supreme humanitarian aspirations, and the foreign intervention will merely add a major obstacle to barriers of achieving liberation and justice.

In the end, I am very grateful to those individuals and institutions who considered me worthy to such a title and appreciation, especially to the great artist Mr. Shwan Dler Qaradaki and also to the Oslo municipality, who sponsored the project.

‌اقتدار ذاتا در پی انقیاد و انحلال توان اندیشگی انسان است، او میخواهد انسانها نیندیشند تا استثمار و ستم وارگیش را درنیافته و در پی آشکارسازی آن برنیایند. هرچه قدرتی بسته تر باشد تلاشش برای خفه کردن کنش ورزی اندیشه‌گران منتقد و مخالف مجدانه تر خواهد بود. برون آوردن ماهیت ستمکار قدرت از پس پرده های ستبر سیستم مرادف است با آگاه سازی توده هایی که حکومت همواره در پی تداوم جهل آنان است، تا از این رهگذر ادامه حیات خود را تضمین کند. چرا که اعتراض و طغیان ثمره آگاهی انسان نسبت به وضعیت و حاصل تلاش متعاقب توده ها برای برون رفت از منجلابی است که حکومتها می آفرینند. پس در باور حاکمین مستبد  باید راه را بر فعل اندیشیدن گرفت تا بنیان قدرت هرگز در خطر نیفتد.

ما مردمان ایران سالهاست با چنین حکومت و وضعیتی دست به گریبانیم، حکومتی که از پس انقلابی بزرگ و مردمی سر برآورد اما بسیار سریع راه پس پیش گرفت و همه تلاشش را بر این قرار داد که مردمانی آگاه را به توده هایی بی هویت، بی قواره و ناآگاه تبدیل کند. کنش ورزان سپهر اندیشه و فرهنگ اما همواره در مقابل این تلاش سخیف و مشمئز کننده مقاومت نموده و نگذاشته اند قدرت حاکمه کامیاب و سرافراز باشد. متاسفانه نزد مردمان مفرب زمین چهره ای ناواقع و مجعول از جامعه ایران برجسته گشته که مدیای رسمی قدرت همگام با مدیای غربی در برساخت آن شریک بوده اند؛ جامعه ای دین خو، مرتجع، قرون وسطایی و تسلیم که نماد و نماینده شر کامل بر روی زمین است. اما حقیقت جز این است، و ایران از لحاظ انسانی و فرهنگی اندیشه ورزترین جامعه شرق زمین و سکولارترین در دنیای اسلام است، و به جرات میتوان گفت ارزش های مقبول قدرت کمترین خواهان را در بین مردم ایران دارد.

پویایی و ترقی خواهی ایران، بخش عمده اش حاصل تلاش پرهزینه کنش گران عرصه اندیشه و فرهنگ این سامان است؛ در یک قرن گذشته و حتی پیش از آن بسیار کسان بوده اند که در راه اشاعه آگاهی و اندیشه به محبس گاه رفته اند، از موطن خویش آواره شده اند، از کلیه حقوق اجتماعی و انسانی شان محروم گشته اند، و حتی جان خود را بر سر پرتوافکنی بر حقیقت تقدیم کرده اند. و این مبارزه بی امان و پر فراز و فرود کماکان ادامه دارد.

اما بگذارید یک حقیقت مهم و مسلم را هم ناگفته نگذارم؛ برخلاف آنچه در دنیای هژمونیک رسانه ای گفته میشود بخش عمده سیاستهای کشورهای غربی نه تنها کمکی به مردم و جنبش اجتماعی ما نمیکند بلکه عامل اصلی تقویت استبداد در ایران است. بنیاد ایدئولوژیک قدرت حاکم بر کشور من بر پایه غیریت یابی و برساختن دشمن بیرونی بنا شده است، هرچه احتمال خطرسازی از جانب دشمن بیشتر و ملموس تر باشد به همان اندازه توان اقناعی حکومت در ضرورت پرهیز مردم از اعتراض به ستم داخلی بیشتر خواهد بود. ایده رایج و منسوخ فشار و تحریم تنها به تقویت تندروهای استبداد پیشه و افزون سازی توانایی آنها در بسیج تعداد بیشتری از مردم در دفاع از تداوم قدرت خود منجر خواهد شد، و چهل سال است که مردمان کشور من این سیکل معیوب و غیرانسانی را تجربه میکنند. هشت سال جنگ ایران و عراق موهبتی بود که حکومت تازه تاسیس ایران بیشترین بهره را از آن برد؛ دفاع از کشور در مقابل دشمن خارجی فرصتی گران بها را در اختیار قدرت قرار داد تا در لوای آن راه را بر هرگونه مخالفت و حتی انتقادی ببندد و اینگونه بود که فضای تنفس آزاد و دمکراتیک برای سالهای طولانی به محاق رفت.

دوستان گرامی!

جویندگان اندیشه ورز ایرانی آزادی و عدالت کماکان در صف اول مبارزه با استبداد داخلی قرار دارند، بر همگان است که نگذارند این همه تلاش و مبارزه پرهزینه با مداخله برخی از حاکمان بی خرد غربی بیهوده شود، باید باور کرد که مردم ایران خود قادر به پیشبرد آرمانهای والای بشری هستند و مداخله خارجی صرفا مانعی بزرگ به موانع فراروی آزادیخواهی و عدالت طلبی خواهد افزود.

در پایان بسیار سپاس گزارم از افراد و نهادهایی که من را شایسته چنین عنوان و تقدیری دانسته اند، به ویژه از هنرمند گران پایه آقای شوان .... و هم چنین از شهرداری اسلو که نهاد حامی طرح بوده اند.
